Music

Music is an integral part of worship in our church.  It reflects our common faith and beliefs, and gives voice to our praise of God.  The music program of our church provides opportunities for adults, youth and children to share their musical gifts as an offering to the glory of God.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is made up of adults of all ages and levels of musical experience.  In addition to providing music for the 11:00 a.m. worship service each week, the choir presents a special Candlelight Festival of Lessons and Carols each year during Advent.  While the choir works toward artistic presentations of substance and integrity, the ultimate reason for the choir being called together is as leaders in the worship of God.  Commitment and a desire to sing are the only requirements for choir membership.

Youth Choir

Composed of students in grades 6-12, the Youth Choir sings for the Christmas Eve Service and for several worship services during the school year. Rehearsals are held in conjunction with Youth Fellowship, and all interested young people are encouraged to participate.

Junior Choir and Children's Choir

The Junior Choir, for students in grades 3-5, and the Children's Choir, for students in grades 1-2, sing for the Christmas Eve Service and for various 11:00 a.m. worship services throughout the school year.  The choir program for children is designed to teach both musical skills and concepts of worship that will serve choir members throughout their lives.

The Kinderchoir

The Kinderchoir is primarily a training program for children ages four and five, in which the children discover their "singing voices," enjoy musical games and activities, and learn appropriate hymns and songs.  The children sing for the Christmas Eve Service, the World Mission Conference, and for special Church Family Night Supper programs.

Handbell Choir and New Handbell Choir

The handbell choir is open to both adults and Youth Choir members.  They play for several 11:00 a.m. worship services during the school year and, occasionally, for special services and Church Family Night Supper programs.  If you are interested, please contact Kevin Fenton.
